- 11 February 1990 Nelson Mandela was released from prison after serving 27 years.
- 28 February 1985 Denis Goldberg was released from prison after serving 22 years.
- 21 March 1960 Sharpeville Massacre where 69 people died and 180 wounded when police fired on a peaceful crowd that had gathered in protest the Pass laws.
- 8 April 1960 ANC and PAC banned following the Sharpeville Massacre. This action, under the Unlawful Organizations Act, forced both parties to operate underground or in exile, marking a shift toward armed struggle against apartheid.
- 9 June 2008 Liliesleaf Opened officially as a museum.
- 12 June 1964 8 Rivonia trialists were sentenced to life in prison.
- 24 June 1963 Elias Motsoaledi and Andrew Mlangeni were arrested, facing charges related to sabotage and leaving the country illegally. Elias Motsoaledi and Andrew Mlangeni were trialed with other leaders following the Liliesleaf farm raid.

- 5 August 1962 Nelson Mandela was arrested outside Howick in Kwazulu-Natal. He was coming back from Chief Albert Luthuli’s house.
- 11 August 1963 Arthur Goldreich, Harold Wolpe, Moosa Moola and Abdul Jassat escaped from Marshal Square Police Station. They bribed a warder, Johannes Greef.
